### Gabe Langston:
Well, here we are, December 31st, 2024—the final day of the year, and what better way to celebrate than with our 20th episode of "Navigate The Way." Over the past 19 weeks, we’ve dived deep into some of the most profound and impactful scripture passages, uncovering the riches of God’s Word. It’s been an incredible journey, and today, we’re going to highlight some of the key moments from this series. But first, Dave, as we reflect on everything we’ve covered, what has stood out to you the most?
### Dave Brooks:
Thanks for asking, Gabe. I’m Dave Brooks, and honestly, what’s impressed me most is just how interconnected the Bible is. For example, our very first episode on Romans chapter 1 verse 17—that idea of righteousness being revealed from faith for faith—it sets the stage for everything we’ve discussed. Whether it’s justification by faith in Episode 9 on Galatians chapter 2 verse 16 or even our exploration of God’s eternal Word in Episode 6, covering passages like John chapter 1 verse 1, it’s clear that all of Scripture points to God’s redemptive plan in Christ. That’s been the most awe-inspiring takeaway for me.
### Gabe Langston:
You’re absolutely right, Dave. The thread of God’s redemption truly weaves its way through every text we’ve explored. I’ll never forget our discussion from Episode 5, where we compared the two trees and two Adams, from Genesis chapter 2 and Romans chapter 5. Seeing how Adam’s failure in the garden is undone by Christ’s victory is such a powerful reminder of the gospel’s beauty. Do you remember how we tied that into Revelation chapter 22 and the tree of life restored?
### Dave Brooks:
Oh, absolutely, Gabe. That was such a rich episode. We saw how Scripture begins and ends with a garden, and the promise of eternal life through Christ restores what was lost through sin. The imagery of the tree of life bookending the Bible—it’s a vivid picture of God’s faithfulness to His promises. And, speaking of promises, our Episode 17 discussion on Second Corinthians chapter 12 verse 10—where God says, "My power is made perfect in weakness"—really underscored how God works through our frailty to demonstrate His strength. That’s a truth that should encourage every believer.
### Gabe Langston:
Amen to that. And it’s interesting how the themes of weakness and dependence on God’s strength kept surfacing. Remember Episode 15, where we explored Philippians chapter 4 verses 6 through 7 about being anxious for nothing? We talked about how prayerful thanksgiving turns our hearts toward God’s peace, even in the most stressful moments. I think that’s a passage we’ve all needed this year, wouldn’t you agree?
### Dave Brooks:
Without a doubt, Gabe. That episode really hit home for me. We unpacked how the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, guards our hearts and minds in Christ Jesus. It’s such a practical, everyday promise. And while Philippians gave us guidance for daily living, our dive into Isaiah chapter 9 verses 6 through 7 in Episode 19, focusing on the profound names of Christ—Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace—reminded us of the glory and majesty of the One who gives that peace. It’s no wonder we’re called to Soli Deo Gloria, to give all glory to God forever, as we discussed in Episode 11 on Romans chapter 11 verse 36.
### Gabe Langston:
That was a memorable episode too. Soli Deo Gloria encapsulates everything, doesn’t it? All of our lives, our salvation, our worship—it’s all for God’s glory. And speaking of worship, our conversation in Episode 8 on First Corinthians chapter 6 verses 19 through 20—"You are not your own, for you were bought with a price"—really drove home the call to live in holiness. That idea of being God’s temple, where His Spirit dwells, was so convicting. How did that discussion resonate with you?
### Dave Brooks:
It was deeply convicting, Gabe. Recognizing that we’ve been purchased by the blood of Christ leaves no room for complacency. It’s a call to live differently, to reflect God’s character in every aspect of our lives. And that ties back to Episode 18 on First Peter chapter 1 verses 13 through 16, where we’re called to be holy as God is holy. Holiness isn’t optional—it’s the natural outworking of a life transformed by the gospel. But Gabe, let me ask you: which episode challenged you the most personally?
### Gabe Langston:
That’s a tough one, Dave, but I’d have to say Episode 14 on Job chapter 8 verses 11 through 15. We looked at the futility of misplaced trust and how Bildad’s words highlighted the fragility of building our lives on anything other than God. It really made me examine my own heart and ask, “Am I placing my trust entirely in Christ, or am I relying on lesser things?” That’s the beauty of Scripture—it constantly challenges and refines us.
### Dave Brooks:
I couldn’t agree more. And speaking of challenges, Episode 10 on Second Timothy chapter 3 verses 16 through 17 was a reminder of Scripture’s authority and sufficiency for every good work. That was a foundational conversation, Gabe, because it affirmed why we do what we do. The Word of God is the foundation for all faith and practice, equipping us to navigate life’s complexities with wisdom and truth.
### Gabe Langston:
Absolutely, Dave. And while we’ve enjoyed unpacking these truths week after week, we do have to acknowledge a sobering reality. Despite the richness of God’s Word and the depth of our discussions, fewer listeners have been tuning in each week. We’ve been confident in the quality of the biblical content, but it seems the technology behind animating our conversations hasn’t quite captivated the audience in the way we’d hoped. Dave, how do you feel about where we stand?
### Dave Brooks:
It’s bittersweet, Gabe. On the one hand, I’m grateful for the opportunity we’ve had to dive into Scripture and share these truths. But on the other hand, it’s clear that the medium still has its limitations. The conversational AI technology just isn’t quite there yet to bring our personalities to life in a way that truly resonates with listeners. That’s why, after much prayer and reflection by the human creators behind this show, we’ve decided to go on an indefinite hiatus. We hope that as technology improves, we’ll be able to return and engage with our audience more effectively.
### Gabe Langston:
Well said, Dave. And to our listeners, if you’ve enjoyed this journey with us, we’d love to hear from you. Your feedback could play a key role in shaping the future of this podcast. In the meantime, let’s remember that the truths we’ve explored aren’t confined to a podcast—they’re the living and active Word of God, meant to transform our lives. Dave, any final thoughts before we sign off?
### Dave Brooks:
Just this, Gabe: the Word of God never returns void. While we may be stepping away for now, the Scriptures remain our guide, our foundation, and our hope. And with that, let me issue this call to action: Stay rooted in the Word, hold fast to Christ, and let your lives bring glory to God in all you do.
